The focus of the joint studio project is to develop innovative, nature-based solutions for informal settlements in the floodplain of the Mbezi River in Dar es Salaam.
The students are exploring various landscape architectural approaches to the issues of rainwater management, erosion prevention and waste management. Working together in mixed groups, they are exploring the area, talking to residents and identifying potential solutions, for example, in the local vegetation and social contexts. Alongside our work on the joint project, we are enjoying the intercultural exchange and getting to know the country.
We’re looking forward to the Tanzanian group’s return visit to Hanover at the end of April!
