With this research focus, we create data-driven digital and physical methods and technologies that support design and construction in architecture and environment across scales, stages, and lifecycles. The goal is to support creativity and problem-solving in complex contexts to find new interdisciplinary solutions. We see these methods and technologies not just as analytical tools, but as generative and integrative link between architecture, ecology, and physical challenges for future design and construction. Our research ranges from social and ecological analysis to innovative material and energy systems for both architecture and landscape design, aiming at resource efficiency and new aesthetic expressions as well as climate change mitigation and adaptation, and we explore and communicate the potentials and limitations of these new technologies.
